CHESTER – The February Mobile Market, sponsored by the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry, was held Wednesday February 26 at the Cohen Recreation Complex in Chester.
Bob Koenegstein, Food Pantry Manager, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester noted that the Mobile Market is held the fourth Wednesday of each month and that the normal start time for the event is approximately 8:00 a.m.
Volunteers unload, organize, and prepare to distribute food items to approximately 99 clients who had vouchers.
The February food items included sweet potatoes, apples, Rasins, orange juice, carrots, sausage, hoagie sandwiches, popcorn, apple juice, fresh grapefruit, an assortment of pies, chips, bottled iced tea, potatoes, and miscellaneous other items.
During the month of February, the Food pantry served 217 households that had a total of 550 individuals.
The Mobile Market served 238 individuals via 101 vouchers. The next Mobile Market will be held Wednesday March 26 at 8:00 a.m. at the Cohen Recreation Complex. Jim Beers Photos
