A private graveside service will be held at a future date for 73-year-old Ronald Hartenberger of Ballwin, Missouri, formerly of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 10:35 am, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at River Crossing Rehab and Healthcare Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born January 29, 1952 to Clarence and Minnie (nee Kessel) Hartenberger on January 29, 1952 in Chester, Illinois who both preceded him in death.
Ron graduated from Chester High School in 1970.
He then went on to Eastern Illinois Unitversity where he double majored in math and computer science and gradutated in 1975. Ron had worked in computer software as an independent contractor for several companies for almost 30 years.
He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Chester. Ron was also a former avid swimmer at the YMCA in Ballwin, Missouri.
Ron enjoyed reminiscing about his college years and all of his job related travels which were many and was also an avid sports fan and loved a good debate. Ron’s most favorite thing to do above all was to go home and spend time with his mother and family.
He is survived by a brother: Dennis (Beth) Hartenberger of Concord, NC, a cousin: Brenda Congiardo
of Chester, Ill. many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
He was also preceded in death by a brother Richard Hartenberger.
It was Ronald’s wish to be cremated.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester where he will be buried alongside his parents and brother.
