PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd Headquarters based in Kiyosu, Japan, has tasked each of their locations across the globe with a corporate initiative to contribute to future sustainability, as outlined in their long-term business plan.
Communities, businesses, and citizens around the world are embracing renewable energy solutions, among them being solar panel installations, marking a significant step toward environmental sustainability. Through discussion with local officials and energy advocates, TG Missouri’s (TGMO) capability to create clean energy has evolved. With the approval now in place, TGMO will work with specialized green energy contractors and local energy providers on the installation of solar options for their Perryville, MO facility. TGMO’s goal is to create cost-effective power solutions that support the transition to clean energy to ensure long-term benefits for our community and future generations.
TGMO’s solar power project is a PPA (Purchase Power Agreement). The equipment will be placed on TGMO property; however, it will be owned by the new power provider that specializes in green energy. TGMO will consume all of the energy produced by this solar array project. This will not provide all of the energy TGMO requires, but it will allow them to receive the following benefits:
- Energy Costs Stability: This project will allow TGMO to control long term electricity expenses, with zero out of pocket investment.
- Energy Capacity: This project will reduce the current power load on providers in the area, allowing for increased future demand and growth of the community.
- Environmental Sustainability: Solar power reduces carbon emissions, helping to preserve Missouri’s environment.
- Community Impact: This project sets an example for local businesses, building Perry County’s reputation as a leader in sustainability.
“We are thrilled to implement this solar energy project, reinforcing our commitment to both sustainability and our community,” said Robert Patrick, President of TG Missouri. “By taking action today, we can help create a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.”
“Generally speaking, electricity is a commodity with limited supply.” said Brent Buerck, Perryville City Administrator. “TG’s ability to offset even a portion of their electric use by building solar panels helps create a situation that potentially allows for additional businesses to enter and expand in our industrial park.”
TGMO is utilizing initiatives they have already had in place, expanding upon the community’s existing solar arrays. This initiative aligns with both Toyoda Gosei’s Global initiatives and Missouri’s broader efforts to promote renewable energy. Construction is expected to begin before the end of 2025 and be completed in 2027.
