STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Catholic Wrestling Team came in third place in district.

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve  came in first in the men’s district wrestling tournament Friday and Saturday at Park Hills.

 

The Dragons are sending 12 boys to the Class 2 State Wrestling Tournament Wednesday and Thursday.

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve High School girls wrestling team was in action Friday and Saturday finished in second place at the Class 1 District 1 tournament.

 

All competing athletes will compete in the Class 1 State Tournament Wednesday and Thursday.

PERRYVILLE – Perryville lost to Hillsboro 65-37.

 

“The Lady Pirates could not overcome the foul trouble and a 10-point lead in the third quarter ballooned into a 28-point win for Hillsboro,” Coach Jason Dreyer commented.

 

Aby Amberger had 13 points and Janie Porter had nine points for Perryville.

 

The Lady Pirates host Ste. Genevieve Monday at 7:30 p.m.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Catholic-St. Paul Lutheran girl’s team defeated West County 48-45 Friday to improve to 18-6 on the season.

The team will play at Farmington tonight.

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent plays at Cardinal Ritter today at 5:30.

 

JACKSON – Saxony Lutheran plays at North County Tuesday at 7:30.

 

Boys Basketball

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste Genevieve won at West County 74-61.

 

The Dragons host Pacific Tuesday with the freshmen at 5 p.m. and the junior varsity and varsity to follow.

 

JACKSON – No. 5 seed Saxony Lutheran plays at No. 4 seed Greenville at 6 p.m. tonight in the Class 3 District 2 Tournament tonight at 6.

 

CHESTER – The 10th seed Chester Yellowjackets host 11th seed DuQuoin at 6:30 p.m. tonight in the Class 2A Regionals. That game will be followed by 12th seed Red Bud vs 9th seed Sparta.

 

The tournament takes a break Tuesday and then two games Wednesday with top seed Belleville Althoff playing the winner of the Chester-DuQoin game at 6 p.m. and 4th seed Pinckneyville vs the winner of the Red Bud-Sparta game.

 

Wednesday’s winners will meet Friday at 7 for the regional championship game.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays at Farmington tonight.

 

PERRYVILLE – No. 2 seed St. Vincent plays No. 3 seed Meadow Heights or No. 6 seed Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament at Caledonia.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville plays at Ste. Genevieve Thursday at 6 p.m.
