CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Lutheran Family and Children’s Services (LFCS), one of Missouri’s oldest social service agencies, has announced the statewide expansion of its Home Visitation Services through the Missouri Parenting Partnership Program (MOPPP). The expansion includes Southeast Missouri.
Designed to empower parents and foster stronger families, the program provides free, personalized home visitation services to eligible families across Missouri. It helps them navigate the challenges of parenting and build brighter futures for their children.
“Every child deserves a strong, caring, and loving family,” said Heather Wall, Director of Parenting Services for LFCS. “Through the Missouri Parenting Partnership Program, we provide parents with the support, resources, and guidance they need to thrive, creating lasting positive change for families in Southeast Missouri and across the state.”
MOPPP serves families with children under age 3, expectant mothers, and those living at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level. The program offers non-judgmental, tailored support through LFCS case workers who partner with families to address their unique needs. LFCS also connects families to essential resources, including housing assistance, food banks, and childcare services to help create safe and stable home environments.
The program is built on the nationally recognized Healthy Families America (HFA) model, known for its proven success in enhancing child and family well-being. This evidence-based approach ensures parents receive the most effective support available.
LFCS partners include Bringing Families Together, Community Partnerships of the Ozarks, Family Forward, Good Samaritan Boys Ranch, Good Shepherd Children and Family Services, MBCH Children and Family Ministries, Nurses for Newborns, New Madrid County Family Resource Center and Whole Kids Outreach.
As part of the expansion, LFCS seeks case managers and social workers in Cape Girardeau. Multiple positions are available to meet the growing needs of Southeast Missouri families.
