Perry County School District No. 32 releases school board meeting report

PERRYVILLE – The Perry County School District No. 32 has released a summary of the February 12, 2025 Regular Board of Education Meeting.

 

Open Session: The open session was called to order at 7:00 p.m. and the pledge of allegiance was recited and a patron comment was given by Judi Lawrence. The board approved the consent agenda items which consisted of:

  • January 8 and January 22, 2025 minutes
  • January 2025 warrants Recognitions presented were:
  • All-State Athlete Awards for Football & Soccer

            ○ Treyton Barnett, Chase Richardet, and Drew Leuckel

  • Co-coach of the year in the Quad County Conference

            ○ Mr. Brent Roth, head football coach

  • Academic All-State Awards for Cross Country

            ○ Alexa Hagan, Katie Baggett, Anna Rehagen, Eloise Bollinger, Aidan Unverferth, Micah             Brown, Porter Johnson, Brandon Roth, and Gwynivere Newbrough

  • Academic All-State Awards for Volleyball

            ○ Allyson Burns, Charli Gerler, Jewel Riney, Ellie Gerler, Maira Mattingly, Lydia Schlimpert,      Paige Berkbigler, and Emma Blechle

  • Impact 100 Grant presented to Ms. Kellerman in the amount of $14,000 to provide the Challenge Day events for all 7th graders.

 

The board approved the following:

  • The insurance bid from OSBA was approved for the 2025-2026 school year.
  • Building CSIP plans were approved as presented. MSBA policy updates (2024D, GCBDA, GDBDA) were reviewed. Administration followed up with nancial reports, Raymond James underwriting services, attendance report, survey results, PACTC scholarship video, board newsletter, and the MSBA February video.

 

Closed Session: The following motions were approved during the board meeting:

1) Resignations for the 2024-2025 school year.

  1. a) Josh Cole – Social Sciences Teacher

2) Retirements

  1. a) Kevin Gegg – Custodian

3) Hires

  1. a) Building Administrators & Directors as presented for the 2025-2026 school year.
  2. b) Abbey Medlin – Middle School Track Coach for the 2024-2025 school year.
  3. c) Updated substitute list for the 2024-2025 school year, as presented.

4) Employee matters were discussed.
