St. Mary man dies when pickup leaves Highway 61, hits four parked vehicles and a house

JEFFERSON CITY — A 19-year-old St. Mary man was killed in a traffic crash on Highway 61 in Perry County Monday night.

 

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper J.S. Collier stated in his report of the crash that the victim was the driver and sole occupant of a southbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD which went out of control, ran off the road to the left, striking a stationary 2014 Chevrolet Impala which was unoccupied. The Silverado then overturned and struck three other stationary vehicles coming to rest into the porch of a residence.

 

The driver was pronounced at the scene by Mercy Ambulance District EMT Jesse Martin. The victim was transported to the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.

 

The crash happened about 11:52 p.m. north of Route NN.

 

Both the Silverado and the Impala received extensive damage and were removed by Perry County Towing. The extent of damage and disposition of the other vehicles was not reported.

 

The highway patrol was assisted by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Perryville Police Department.
