CHS music students earn their way to Florida by helping with Methodist Men ham and bean dinner

CHESTER – Several Chester High School Music Students volunteered to assist the Methodist Men of the First United Methodist Church in Chester with its annual Ham and Bean Dinner.

The students waited tables, poured beverages, cleaned tables, washed dishes, greeted guests, and maintained table settings throughout the evening.

The students are under the direction of Steve Colonel, CHS Band and Vocal Director.

He and his students have assisted with this project for several years.

In exchange, the Methodist Men make a donation to the respective student’s Trip Accounts to help them pay for their travel expenses to perform in Florida.

The UMM praised the efforts of the students and note that without them, the project would be difficult to complete.
