SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland announced a $6,150 grant from Proctor and Gamble’s fund at the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. This funding will help expand efforts to address period poverty and ensure that all girls have access to essential menstrual health products.
The Donation Impact
Proctor and Gamble’s gift to The Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland Council will enable us to expand our investment in girls by addressing period poverty across our council. This gift will make an unforgettable impact by enabling us to engage over 4,000 Girl Scouts in supporting underserved women and girls through a large-scale service project.
By collecting and donating feminine hygiene products to local schools and shelters, Girl Scouts will help remove barriers that prevent girls and women from fully participating in school and daily life.
“We are grateful for Proctor & Gamble’s commitment to empowering girls and young women,” said Brigitte Scott, CEO, GSMH. “Their investment strengthens our mission and gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to lead meaningful social change in their communities.”
At Girl Scouts, we believe in every girl’s potential to meet today’s problems with bold solutions and create a better, brighter tomorrow for her community and the world. Investments like this support girls’ abilities to make positive change, regardless of their backgrounds, locations, or financial situations.

We Are Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from community to community, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them.
