Paul Edward Kist

A funeral will be held Saturday for 75-year-old Paul Edward Kist of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at Riverview at the Park in Ste. Genevieve.

 

He was born October 25, 1949 in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

He married Marie (Schenck) Kist May 27, 1972. She preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by three sons: Ted Kist of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Mike Kist of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Benjamin (Katie) Kist of Perryville, Mo.; a brother: Robert “Bob” (Bert) Kist; two granddaughters, Mallory Kist and Natalie (Noah) Boughamer; and a grandson: Jacob Kist.

 

He was also preceded in death by his mother: Rita T. Kist and his father: Welton Kist;

 

Visitation will be 8-11:15 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

A funeral for 75-year-old Paul Edward Kist of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve.

 

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Ted Kist in care of Mike Kist for future living expenses.

 

Paul proudly served our country in the United States Army as a drill sergeant in the early 70’s . He was a member of Sainte Genevieve Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 150.

 

Paul was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting of all kinds. He loved watching football and baseball in his spare time. Paul was also mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on cars. Paul was a wonderful husband and caretaker of his beloved wife, Marie for many years until her passing in 2017.
