A funeral will be held Friday, January 24, 2025 for 76-year-old Christopher Macrae Urquhart of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 6:58 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Saint Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born November 22, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Dinsmore Ely and Loretta Violet (nee Eugene) Urquhart.
Christopher married Nancy Mueller on April 12, 1969; she preceded him in death on September 12, 2022.
He started his career in education at St. John Lutheran School in Chester in 1971 and worked as a teacher and principal serving St. John Lutheran School until his retirement in 2012. After retiring, Christopher helped out in the IT department at the school.
Christopher was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. Christopher also enjoyed traveling with his friends and making family videos from his travels and his family. He was a long time volleyball coach for both St. John Lutheran School and Chester High School.
Christopher was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and spent several years of his career taking the 8th grade class to Chicago for their final class trip.
