AARP tax prep program begins in Ste. Genevieve in February

STE. GENEVIEVE – AARP Tax Aides will begin preparing Missouri Property Tax Credit And Federal Tax (1040) returns at the  Ste Genevieve County Community Center  Beginning Monday February 3, 2025.

 

(There are no AARP Tax Aides in Perry County. Senior citizens who need the service may make an appointment and go to the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center for the service.)

 

Tax Aide Preparers will be available by appointment only, on Mondays through April 7th.

 

Appointments may be made by calling the Community Center At 883-5244 starting January 20, 2025.

 

Participants must schedule an appointment to have their taxes done. If a participant fails to keep their appointment it will be necessary for them to call and schedule a new appointment.

 

Calls should be made between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Participants must speak with a volunteer to schedule. If no one answers, call back later.

 

This program is open to taxpayers of all ages. AARP membership is not required. All volunteers are trained and IRS-certified every year. There is no charge for having your Federal and State Tax Returns prepared and e-filed.

 

Both husband and wife must come in to have a joint return prepared. When participants come, please bring the following:

 

Your previous twp years of tax returns:

 

            Photo ID

            Social Security card or other official documentation for yourself and all dependents.

            W-2 forms.

            Unemployment compensation statements.

            SSA-1099 forms if you were paid Social Security benefits.

            All 1099 forms (1099INT, 1099 DIV, etc.) showing interest and/or dividends and documentation             showing original purchase price of sold assets.

            1099MISC showing any miscellaneous income.
