Fire displaces 11 persons on Blue Springs Lane

PERRYVILLE — The Perry County Rural Fire Department was called out at 11:38 a.m. Sunday by a report of a structure fire in the 10 Block of Blue Springs Lane.                      

 

Upon arrival firefighters found an approximately 20×20 shop fully involved.  The fire spread to the house which received minor damage to the exterior of the residence, melting the siding and burning the back porch area.  The fire also spread to a tiny home located next to the shop.  The tiny home received major damage. 

 

The shop and the tiny home are considered a complete loss.  There were two occupants of the tiny home and nine occupants in the main structure.   All occupants were able to escape the fire uninjured although a dog perished in the fire.                                                                                                    

 

The Chester Fire Department was called to assist. 

 

The American Red Cross was called to help the occupants who were displaced.
