Joe Eggemeyer will run for mayor of Chester

CHESTER – Joe Eggemeyer has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Chester,

 

 

The election will be April 1st 2025.

 

He previously served from 2001 to 2005 and then from 2009 to 2013.

 

He has extensive knowledge of how the city operates and would be an asset to our community.

 

He stated that if elected, he would be involved in promoting our current businesses and in working to bring new businesses to our community.

 

He is currently a heavy equipment operator for Mayer out of Belleville.

 

If elected , he intends to work part time and commit his time to the City and the citizens.

 

Joe has contacts from surrounding areas that would be instrumental in helping our city grow. He states he would focus to improve properties and rebuild .

 

He is currently looking into programs that would provide training and skills for those that would be interested in the trades as a future.

 

On a rotational basis , the trades program could improve sidewalks, streets and buildings while getting them training for their future. Joe states he sees a lack of places for youth and families to have fun. He wants to provide and improve the city to attract visitors instead of citizens seeking outside entertainment.

 

Joe states that there will be some newly-elected aldermen that will be an asset to those currently serving.

 

He states he would like to see both current and newly elected have a voice to present ideas and to move forward on their visions.

 

Joe states that if elected, he will be available throughout the week and some evenings to address the communities needs.

 

He states “Together as a community, we can work together to make our town one that our youth will want to raise their future families and encourage others to stay.
