Girls Basketball

 

PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Lady Pirates fought through a ton of adversity to beat Oak Ridge 54-43 in the opening round of the SEMO Christmas Tournament on Saturday morning.

 

The Lady Pirates were dealing with injuries and foul trouble only ending the game with only five girls that could play.

 

The  Lady Pirates were led in scoring by:

Aby Amberger with 26 points

Kara Williams with 8 points

Zoe Hoehn with 8 points

Manuela Robinson with 7 points

Madeleine Gremaud and Kara Williams also each had 11 rebounds.

 

The Lady Pirates came up against the No. 1 seed Jackson Indians beat up and injured and the lack of depth showed as they lost to them 58-19.

 

The Lady Pirates move into the fifth place bracket and will play Scott County Central on Tuesday at 4 pm at the Show Me Center.

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent topped Meridian, Illinois Saturday 102-3 (according to MSHSAA) in the SEMO Christmas Tournament which continues until Friday.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Catholic-St. Paul Lutheran Girl’s Basketball team plays at Herculaneum today.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve varsity girls basketball  plays  at Arcadia Valley today, JV at 6 and varsity at 7:30.

 

CHESTER – The Chester girls are back in action on the road Wednesday.

 

Boys Basketball

 

PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent won at Oak Ridge 69-50 Friday.

 

The Indians host Chaffee Tuesday, JV at 6 and varsity at 7:30.

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve varsity boys  won at Valle  80-61 Friday.

 

The Dragons host Jefferson Tuesday, JV at 6 and varsity at 7:30.

 

CHESTER – The Chester boys play at Sparta tonight at 7:30.

 

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle plays Crystal City Tuesday at 7 p.m.

 

PERRYVILLE – Perryville plays at Hillsboro Tuesday, freshmen at 4:30, JV at 5:30 and varsity at 7.

 

Wrestling

 

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve participated in the Union Tournament Friday and Saturday.

 

The girl wrestlers finished seventh out of 23 teams.

 

Congratulations to Drake Meyer, who earned the Outstanding Wrestler of the Union Tournament!
