STE. GENEVIEVE — The Ste. Genevieve Board of Alderman has voted to have the city attorney enter into discussions with McBride Homes for the development of the Progress Parkway residential development.
The vote to move forward on the project was 7-0-1 with Alderman Jeff Eydmann absent.
When asked how long the discussion may take, City Attorney Mark Bishop, said he couldn’t say. He did point out that the agreement will be fairly complicated.
Nevertheless, this is the first step in what could be the largest single residential development in the history of Ste. Genevieve.
In other business at last night’s meeting newly-appointed Police Chief Daniel Haleck was sworn into office by City Clerk Pam Meyer, and the aldermen approved 7-0-1 a two percent increase in the sewer and water rates and the purchase of play ground equipment for the Pere Marquette Park.
The meeting was shown live on SteGenTV Chanel 991 and is now available on the SteGenTv You Tube Channel at https://youtu.be/ux3DlrxzdMk
