A funeral will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 for 82-year-old Phillip R. Keeton of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 12:50 a.m., Sunday, December 8, 2024 at his residence.
He was born July 19, 1942 in Rockwood, Illinois to Harvey and Floyda (nee Farmer) Keeton.
Phillip married the love of his life, Margaret Childers November 30, 1959 in Perryville, Missouri; she survives.
He is also survived by three children: Connie Wolfe of McDonough, GA, Robert Keeton of Chester, IL
Loretta (Bob) Dickson of Chester, IL; four siblings: Don (June) Keeton of Tilden, IL, Katherine (Frank) Hughes of Sparta, IL, Arlene Korando of Chester, IL and Roger Keeton of Chester, IL; 12 grandchildren: Chad (Misty) Caron, Brian Caron, Destiny Fivecoat, Jamie (Joshua) Whited, Phillip Keeton, Tiffany Keeton, Stephen Keeton, Hannah Keeton, Ashley (Russell) Asbury, Brittaney (Kenny) Stephens, Justin (Justine) Dickson and Makayla Dickson; 35 Great Grandchildren; Great-Great Grandchildren and Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
He was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
He had retired from Chester School District No. 139 where he had been a custodian and also retired from Moore and Wittenborn Thriftway Market. Phillip spent his retired years as a pastor for the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Chester.
Phillip was a beacon of the community and spent his life serving God and helping others. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and talking about Jesus. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be 4– 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2024 and 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois.

Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, Illinois.
