A funeral will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 for 88-year-old Harry Edward McAdams of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 8:32 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2024 at his residence.
He was born December 22, 1935 in Chester, Ill. to Jesse Daniel and Adaline (nee Baum) McAdams, who both preceded him in death.
Harry married Mary Walker on July 23, 1960 in Chester, Illinois; she survives in Chester.
He is also survived by two children: Daniel (Karen) McAdams of Chester and Terri (Larry) Hartman of Chester; seven siblings: Mary Ann Twitty of Sun City, Fla., Vera Siegfried of Chester, Virginia Fry of the state of Michigan, Debra (Kevin) Herring of Chester, Donnie (Joby) McAdams of Chester, Carl (Jan) McAdams DeSoto, Ill., and Robert (Louise) McAdams of Steeleville; four grandchildren: Jessica Danielle McAdams, Jamie Catherine McAdams, Lacey Beth Hartman and Brian James Hartman and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters: June Rucker and Vada Savage, a brother: Jesse Daniel McAdams, Jr., and his best friend: Alfred Durkee.
He retired from Spartan Printing after working there 36 years.
Harry was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
He was also a member of Mississippi Valley Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.
Harry was a Boy Scout leader for several years, was an avid gardener and had a passion for fishing.
He was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War from 1954-1962.
Visitation will be 8:30-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.
