Perryville man is hurt in I-55 crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 33-year-old Perryville man suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash Tuesday morning in Jefferson County.

 

Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal T. H. Elliston investigated the crash and in his report stated the man was taken to Mercy Hospital South by a Joachim-Plattin Ambulance.

 

The report also states a 21-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman was also involved in the crash but was uninjured.

 

According to Corp. Elliston’s report the crash involved four northbound vehicles.

 

The Ste. Genevieve woman was the driver of a 2012 Ford Escape and the Perryville man was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruz.

 

The two other vehicles were a 2011 GMC 2500 driven by a De Soto man and a 2016 Kia Sorrento driven by a man from Washington, Mo.

 

The report says the crash happened when traffic began to slow due to an earlier traffic crash, about 7:35 a.m. south of Route Z.

 

All of the occupants of the four vehicles were buckled up.

 

All of the vehicles involved had moderate damage.

 

Corp. Elliston was assisted in his investigation by MSGT. B. M. Beard, Trooper C. W. Cherry, Trooper J. J. Collins and Pevely Police Department officers.
