Stanley Lee Colin

A funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 9, 2024 for 77-year-old Stanley Lee Colin of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at his residence.

He was born November 3, 1947 in Menfro, Mo. a son of Amiel and Othella Colin who both preceded him in death.

Stanley and LaVesta Peer married on April 24, 1971. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2005.

 

He then married Debbie (Gettinger) Vaeth on June 8, 2020 in Perryville. She survives him in Perryville.

He is also survived by a son: Brian Colin; a daughter: Stephanie Colin; a stepson: Brad (Renee Boland) Vaeth; two stepdaughters: Renee (Demetrius Lewis) Vaeth, and Robin Vaeth; a brother: Richard (Sherry) Colin; two sisters: Janet Harper and Barbara Garris; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; eleven step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Ronald Colin; a sister: Jacqueline Brendt; two brothers-in-law: Bill Harper and Roylee Garris.

 

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded two purple hearts.

Stanley was a truckdriver for Gilster Mary Lee for thirty-two years.

 

He was a member of Freedom of Road Riders Local #24, VFW Post #4282, American Legion Post #133, River Hills Eagles Aerie #4034.

 

He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling.

He was of the Christian Faith.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 and from 8-10 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral for 77-year-old Stanley Lee Colin of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Ford & Young Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Chapman officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Journey Hospice.
