Two Perryville men hurt in I-55 crash

JEFFERSON CITY — Two Perryville men were among three persons receiving minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in St. Louis County Friday afternoon.

 

According to the crash report written by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A. P. Billiott the two men, aged 39 and 47 were taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlville Fire Protection District. Third person hurt in the crash, a 26-year-old female from St. Louis, was also taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlville Fire Protection District.

 

Trooper Billiott said the crash happened when a northbound 2022 KIA KS driven by the St. Louis woman in the No. 1 lane braked for a traffic accident ahead of her. The Kia skidded off the left side of the roadway, striking a concrete barrier. The Kia then returned to the roadway and struck the left rear of a northbound 2022 Ford F-250 driven by the 47-year-old Perryville man and also occupied by the 39-year-old Perryville man.

 

The crash happened about 2:55 p.m. south of Meramec Bottom Road.

 

All three individuals were buckled up.

 

The KIA was a total loss and the Ford had extensive damage. Both were towed by Miner’s Towing.
