CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Francis Healthcare System is pleased to announce the donation of 164 boxes filled with food and personal hygiene items to our Saint Francis colleagues and families in the area.
This was a great increase from last year’s collection of 150 boxes.
Saint Francis also delivered to community partner organizations like Community Counseling Center and Catholic Charities.
This was an amazing opportunity to share how blessed we truly are by blessing those around us. The Saint Elizabeth Drive is a food drive event that each year, departments, and clinics across the Healthcare System join together to supply Thanksgiving meals containing food and hygiene items to families in need in our region.
Colleagues were also encouraged to decorate (wrap, paint, color, etc.) their Saint Elizabeth Food Drive boxes and there is an internal judging competition done. Saint Francis strives to promote generosity in helping to provide a glimmer of hope to families in need across the region! Saint Francis Healthcare System is guided by our mission to provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ.
Founded by Franciscan Sisters in 1875, our priority remains the same: serve all who enter with dignity, compassion and joy. Anchored by Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital, and supported by nearly 3,000 employees and more than 250 providers in eight communities, the Healthcare System is a driving economic force in the region.
Major services include the Cancer Institute, Emergency and Level III Trauma Center, Family BirthPlace and the region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Heart Hospital, Neurosciences and Orthopedics.
