Ste. Genevieve woman seriously injured in I-55 crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 30-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman was seriously injured in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Thursday night.

 

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper J.S. Collier in his report of the crash stated the woman was taken to Mercy Hospital Suoth by a Ste. Genevieve County ambulance.

 

Trooper Collier stated the woman was the driver of a northbound 2018 Kia Optima which crossed the center line and struck of the rear of a northbound 2014 Mazda 3 driven by a 19 year old St. Charles woman.

 

The accident report state after the initial impact, the Kia traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff and overturned.

 

The Kia was a total loss and was removed by Ste. Genevieve County Towing.

 

The Mazda has moderate damage and was removed by D&J Towing.

 

Trooper Collier says the Ste. Genevieve woman was unrestrained, but the St. Charles woman was buckled up.

 

The crash happened about 9:41 p.m. at the 163 mile marker.
