Dorothy (Buchheit) Schott Alkemeyer, 89, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born December 3, 1934 in Perryville , MO to Alphonse and Theodora “Dora” (Unterreiner) Buchheit.
Dorothy and Howard Schott were married September 12, 1953 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1971.
She then married William “Bill” Alkemeyer on February 19, 1983 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1998.
Survivors include daughter, Diana Johnson of Perryville; son, Jim (Stacy) Schott of Perryville; two sisters, Helen (Richard) Rolfing of St. Peters, MO, Ann Bodenstein of Gordonville, MO; two brothers, Clyde Buchheit of Perryville, Albert Buchheit of Perryville; four grandchildren, Ian Layton of Perryville, Nicholas (Jennifer) Layton, Andrea “Annie” (Craig) Ernst of Perryville, Joslyn Schott of Branson, MO; one step grandchild; Rachel Rhodes; three great-grandchildren, Joey Layton, Carter Layton, Colten Ernst; two step great-grandchildren, Tristan Ernst, Camron Ernst,
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; infant son, Danny Joseph Schott.
Dorothy was supervisor for the International Shoe Co. and she also worked for the City of Perryville for many years. She enjoyed gardening and spent most of her time taking care of her family, who she dearly loved.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, Ladies of Charity, Adorer of the Blessed Sacrament, American Legion Post 133 Auxiliary, and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veteran Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Fred Wandera C.M. officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Church or Journey Hospice.
