MO Route 51 in Perry County reduced for bridge repairs

SIKESTON—Missouri Route 51 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs on the Chester Bridge over the Mississippi River.

You can see the Mississippi River through the hole in the driving surface of the Chester Bridge.

This section of roadway is located from County Road 946 near Claryville, Missouri to E Kaskaskia Street in Chester, Illinois.

Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.  

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
