AFSCME donates $250 to CACFP

CHESTER – AFSCME donates $250 to the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry (CACFP).

 

Making the presentation is Larry Brown, President of AFSCME Council 31 Sub-Chapter 56 Retiree Chapter in Chester, Illinois.

 

Accepting the donation from Brown on behalf of the CACFP is Dr. Jim Beers, who is also a former State of Illinois Employee and member of AFSCME Sub-Chapter 56.

President Brown noted that the AFSCME Sup-Chapter 56 also made a $250 donation to the food pantry at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, MO.

 

The Chester Sub-Chapter has been supporting the local food pantries for many years and plans to make another donation to the CACFP in May of 2025 to help feed local children during the summer months when school meals are not available.
