By Holly Thompson Rehder, State Senator
I have voted in many elections in my life. Each and every time I can’t help but stop and think about what a privilege it is, and of the men and women who have prioritized our voices above their lives and fought to protect the right to vote. It truly is an honor to participate in this process.
Now, as we approach the 2024 election, which includes presidential, gubernatorial, judicial and local office races, as well as six ballot measures, each and every vote is more important than ever before. Races are tighter, issues more controversial and the future seems more uncertain. A vote today doesn’t just choose officials for the next few years, it helps chart a path for the future of the country. The stakes are far too high to sit on the bench. It’s time for all of us to get in the game.
As Susan B. Anthony said, “Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.” Do not take this opportunity for granted. On Tuesday, fulfill your civic duty and let your voice be heard.
Not sure about where your polling place is? Registered voters can find where to cast their ballot on the Missouri secretary of state’s website – voteroutreach.sos.mo.gov.
