Police receive report of vandalism to political campaign signs

PERRYVILLE – The Perryville Police Department is investigating a complaint of vandalism to political campaign signs at two locations near Perry County School District No. 32 property, reported on October 22.

 

The department’s public information officer Corp. Jerri Cain says one incident was reported to have happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Ganahl Street which is near the entrance to the Perry County Middle School and the second incident was reported to have been in the 300 block of Rolla which is near the Old Senior High School. Corporal Cain said the perpetrators are believed to be juveniles and school and police authorities will be looking at security videos to make an identification of the suspects. It was not reported which candidate was the target of the vandals. Corp. Cain said a theft of Halloween decorations in the neighborhood was also reported about the time of one of the vandalism incidents.

 

In other items from the latest police reports there were three arrests.

 

38-year-old Shane C. Sharp of Perryville at 9:36 a.m October 27 on a fugitive warrant out of the state of Missouri Department of Corrections.

 

18-year-old Preston A. McCuan Schlichting of Cape Girardeau at 9:06 p.m. October 26 on I-55 southbound for resisting by fleeing, creating substantial risk of injury or death, speeding 141 miles an hour in a posted 70 mile an hour speed limit, and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and reckless manner.

 

24-year-old Ryan David Wiggins of Perryville for driving while revoked or suspended second or third offense following a traffic near the intersection of Highway 51 and Brenda Avenue at 11:47 p.m. October 25th.
