Vernetta Loretta Schwent, 89, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024
at The Arbors at Parkwood Meadows in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was born June 24, 1935 in River Aux Vases, Mo. to the late Oscar and Anna Herman.
She married Louis Schwent February 20, 1954.
She is survived by two daughters: Deborah (Russell) Brace of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. and Denise (Brad) Garrett of Lake St. Louis, Mo; a granddaughter: Jennifer (Mike Figge) Zerwig; a grandson: Jason (Kelly Caples) Zerwig; great-grandchildren: Allison (Jacob) Barlow, Dustin Zerwig, Sierra Zerwig, Cole Zerwig, and Hannah Woodruff; great-grand-dog: Scarlett; great-great-grandchildren: Owen, Ellie, and Macy; special friend: Armelia Huck; sisters-in-law: Martha Schwent of Ellisville, Mo., Florence Meyer of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Delores Spraul of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Margie Wehmeyer of Perryville, Mo.; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Schwent of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis Schwent; a brother: Glennon Herman; her father: Oscar Herman; her mother: Anna (Kist) Herman; sisters-in-law: Mary Armbruster, Bridgette Griffard, and Wilma Meyer; brothers-in-law: Clarence Schwent, Wilfred Schwent, and Edward Schwent.
Visitation will be at St. Joseph Church in Zell, Mo. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 9-10 am.
A funeral for Vernetta Loretta Schwent, 89, of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. will be at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 10:00 am.
Inurnment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Niche.
Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and St. Joseph Church in Zell.
Vernetta enjoyed crafting, bird watching, and spending time at their cabin.
