A funeral will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 for 75-year-old Paul Wayne Jokerst of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at NHC Health Care in Desloge, Mo.
He was born October 21, 1948 in Bonne Terre, Mo., the son of Henry Jokerst and Lorraine (Pettus) Jokerst who both preceded him in death.
He married Janel (Huck) Jokerst on January 30, 1971. She survives in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
He is also survived by four daughters: Dana (Noel) Jacob of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Laura (Brad) Ritter of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Tonya (Stan Kauffman) Jokerst-Kauffman of Ozark, Mo., and Paula (Tim) Vaughn of Fenton, Mo.; a brother: Warren (Marcia) Jokerst of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; grandchildren: Kyle Jacob, Courtney (Keith) Hermann, Garrett (Hallie Teasley) Ritter, Kiersten (Eddie)Wampler, Mason Vaughn, Matthew Vaughn; great-grandchildren: Tatum (Alex), Jacob, Emma, Collin, Myla, Ella; and a great-great-grandson, Levi.
Paul was a proud veteran and United States Marine Corps Sergeant having served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded two Purple Hearts during his service time along with many other medals. Paul loved being outdoors, riding horses, feeding and watching birds, gardening, making wine and brandy, and most of all, being with his grandchildren.
He was a member of VFW Post 2210, American Legion in Bloomsdale, Mo., and also the Little Saline Sportsman’s Club.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Sts. Philip and James Church in River Aux Vases, Mo.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Mo. at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial in Perryville, Mo. or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
