Ste. Genevieve man seriously injured in I-55 crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 47-year-old Ste. Genevieve man was seriously injured in a traffic crash on I-55 in St. Louis County early Saturday morning.

 

According to the accident report prepared by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M. T. McCoy, Robert A. Sell was the driver of a southbound 2022 Ford Ecosport which struck a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado which had been abandoned in the southbound lanes of the interstate. The accident report states the southbound Ecosport struck the Silverado in the right side and after the impact the Ecosport struck the concrete barriers on both side of the roadway.

 

Trooper McCoy says Sell was taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlvillle Fire Protection District.

 

The trooper also reported a passenger in the Ecosport, 44-year-old Heather M. Jackson of Festus received moderate injuries and was also taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlville Fire Protection District.

 

Trooper McCoy says neither occupant of the Ecosport was buckled up.

 

There was no one in the Silverado.

 

The crash happened about 12:55 a.m. north of Butler Hill Road.

 

Both vehicles were total losses and were removed by Miner’s Towing.
