October 4th Friday in Ste. Genevieve

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve kicks off the October 4th Friday Art Walk on October 25 with a particularly appropriate seasonal event…a pumpkin glow and Jack- (or Jane-) o’lantern carving experience at the Main Street Park in the Little Bohemia neighborhood.

“There’ll be a chance for some pumpkin carving, a display of the results in a pumpkin glow, plus hot chocolate and s’mores, and a fire pit in case there’s a chill in the air,” an organizer said. “We think it’ll be a real family-friendly event and fun for all ages.”

The pumpkin glow event begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 8 p.m. The park is located at the corner of N. Main and Jefferson.

Art Walk activities in the same block on N. Main include music, seasonal art and some surprises.

Music Art Love will have live music by the duo Umbra; featured crafters are Solei and Lisa Kovac. Some items will be Halloween related and some artists will dress in costume.

Meet and take a photo with Wanda the Witch at E•KLeK•TiX Studio & Gallery (across the street from Music Art Love) where there’ll be lots of Halloween art, spooky music and sweet treats…plus 10 percent off the price of select items for those who show up in costumes.

Rust, and Only Child Originals will also be open on North Main.

Those who haven’t yet seen the neighborhood’s new mural (on a building adjacent to the Main Street Park) can get a look at that gorgeous artistic tribute to the Bohemian spirit.

On the courthouse square Silver Sycamore Gallery will have “new things to admire plus some very affordable seasonal items you’ll want to check out.” Gallery owners say they’ll be “waiting to chat and share our treats…without tricks.”

The Ste. Genevieve Art Guild’s Art Center will be open for 4th Friday, displaying the work of member artists and information about the historic Ste. Genevieve Art Colony and Summer School of Art.

Most Art Walk activities take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are free and open to everyone.
