Missouri nutrient loss reduction strategy stakeholder meeting slated

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will host a hybrid (in person and virtual) stakeholder meeting on October 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. to discuss the Missouri Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy (NLRS) and review the highlights of the efforts that have occurred over the last 10 years.

Missouri is a member of the Hypoxia Task Force focused on improving water quality locally and reduce nutrient loss to tributaries of the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico.

The Missouri NLRS was finalized in 2014 by a committee of representatives from environmental, agricultural, and natural resource organizations and set goals to reduce nutrient loss to groundwater and surface water through adaptive approaches.

At this stakeholder meeting, you will hear presentations from Missouri DNR team members on various highlights of the last 10 years, updates on current NLRS projects, and future updates to the strategy.

This meeting will be held at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, LaCharrette/Nightingale conference rooms, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City, MO, with a Webex option being offered. Information on how to join the meeting remotely is listed below.
