STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met Thursday night for regular and work sessions.
All of the aldermen were present, though Mike Raney was there via Zoom.
The Consent agenda was approved.
The consent agenda contained the following resolutions:
No. 2025-02 – to send an application for an engineering grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources clean water revolving fund.
No. 2025-03 for the fire department to submit a $9,145 grant application to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
One additional resolution was approved later in the meeting: 2025-01 reappoints Becky Welch to the Ste. Genevieve Housing Authority Board.
Old Business:
Bill No. 4640 calling for the election of city officers on April 8th was given final approval 8 yes, 0 no, 0 absent.
Bill No. 4641 calling for the hiring of Cochran Engineering in connection with the city-wide street paving program was given final approval 8 yes, 0 no, 0 absent.
New Business:
An appeal from the Heritage Commission denial of a request by Jason Stackle to replace wood frame windows with vinyl frame windows at 147 N. Third Street was denied.
A request by Patrick Fahey to use city property on Front Street for food truck parking during the Front Street Antique Festival was approved 7-0 with Aldermen Fahey abstaining.
Bill No. 4642 to approve a one-year order with Placer Labs, Inc. for visitor analytic data was given first round approval.
Bill No. 4643 to approve an agreement with Stephen W. Dotson for grant writing assistance for the Tourism and Community Development Departments was given first round approval.
Bill No. 4644 to approve an agreement with Slugaroo LLC for a music synchronization license for an online tourism video for advertising was given first round approval.
Bill No. 4645 to establish a no parking zone on the west side of Fifth Street between Market and Merchant Streets was given first round approval.
Bill No. 4646 to approve a five year contract with Omnigo Software, LLC of Plano, Texas was given first round approval.
The regular session was followed by a work session.

Discussion of the Progress Parkway property
An update on the search for new police chief. First look at candidates will be soon after October 25. The city may appoint an interim chief to serve until the vacancy is filled.
