Stan Benne, age, 67, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center in Farmington surrounded by his loving family. Stan was born on Tuesday, July 16, 1957, in St. Louis to the late Paul H. and Lucille (Hawkins) Benne. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by a stillborn brother Bruce.
Stan was a devoted member and deacon of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Park Hills and had a passion and heart for witnessing others to Jesus. After graduating from Ste. Genevieve High School in 1975, Stan pursued his career in carpentry at the age of 18. He owned and operated Benne Building Company Tradition for over 36 years, which now his son, Chace has now taken up. Outside of work, he was a passionate and avid bowhunter, fisherman and trapper for most of his life. He also enjoyed playing softball on his church league where he formed many lasting bonds over the years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Roberta “Robin” (Agnew) Benne; beloved children, Tayler Skye Cortor and husband Cameron, Chace Hunter (Hailey Crass) Benne; cherished grandson, Callahan Wayne Cortor; dearest sister, Paula K. Benne; special uncle, Jim Hawkins and wife Betty; special faithful friends, T.G. Harris, Tony Momot, Sterlyn Stevens, Mark Wampler, Jeff Wolk and Gary Kernan along with many adoring cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Pastor Wayne Phillips and Pastor Curt Gwartney officiating. Burial to follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials if desired can be made to the family to help with expenses.
