JEFFERSON CITY — A 90-year-old Perryville man was killed Thursday afternoon in a farm tractor accident on Perry County Road 343 near PCR 328.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper K. L. Goforth reported the victim, Oliver G. Bachmann, started the tractor while he was standing next to it. The trooper said the tractor was in gear and the neutral switch was not operating properly. He said the tractor rolled over the victim and continued traveling east until its right side struck a stationary 2008 Dodge Ram which was unoccupied.
The victim was pronounced by Perry County Coroner William Bohnert.
MSHP Cpl. C. A. Groves and Msgt. W. B. Sevier assisted at the scene.
The accident happened about 1:05 p.m.
