PERRYVILLE – Students in Kersten Fulmer’s class at Perryville High School recently conducted a study to determine if they could outrun a dinosaur.
The activity involved measuring their own legs to find which dinosaur had similar leg lengths and then competed against the Velociraptor (about 20-inch legs), Sanjauansaurus (25 inches), Deinonychus (30 inches), or Coelophysis (35 inches).
The track was marked with the footprint of the dinosaurs so students could see how far the animals would go in eight strides.
Students then ran eight strides to see if they could pass their dino’s footprint. One team had long enough legs to survive!
