Ste. Genevieve 4th Friday Art Walk set for September 27

STE. GENEVIEVE – The theme is “Fall into Art” for Ste. Genevieve Missouri’s September 4th Friday Art Walk, celebrating the change of season with a major art event and new art on display at participating locations.

The event will take place in the historic town’s downtown from 6-9 p.m. Friday, September 27.

The Sainte Genevieve Art Guild will open a new member exhibit at the Art Center & Art Museum at Third and Market, plus visitors can view early-bird entries in the Guild’s 20th Annual Plein Air Competition and catch some artists painting outdoors in the downtown. (The plein air event concludes on Saturday night, September 28, with a 6 p.m. reception and a chance to vote for your favorite painting.)

Silver Sycamore Gallery on Market Street will be open with “some impressive surprises of new artwork” according to gallery owners, who are inviting visitors to “come in and have a glass of wine and a snack as you wander through our intriguing gallery.”

In the Little Bohemia district (North Main Street between Jefferson and Washington) a pair of artists–Aaron Smith and Kate Doherty, known as ‘Art to Geaux’–will mount their first show in Ste. Genevieve at Music Art Love, where there will also be live music by Ron Allen.

At E•KLeK•TiX Studio & Gallery local artist Linda Smith will have work on display, along with J Rissover’s “Celebrate Cats!” collection and the artist’s tribute to Ste. Genevieve’s French colonial heritage.

Complimentary wine and classic French jazz recordings will help set the mood.

Rust, and Only Child Originals will also be open in the Little Bohemia neighborhood and those who haven’t yet seen the neighborhood’s gorgeous new mural can catch the Bohemian spirit at the south entry to the block.

Most Art Walk activities are free and open to everyone
