STE. GENEVIEVE – This summer, middle school students in Missouri participated in a “mini-medical school” camp focused on cancer biology, while fourth to sixth graders experimented with running speeds between humans and dinosaurs.
These camps were part of the University of Missouri’s summer programs, supported by The Connector, which connects young learners with university researchers for hands-on scientific experiences.
Christal Huber, senior programming coordinator for The Connector, noted the benefits of authentic science experiences for youth, emphasizing the importance of engaging students with scientists and promoting interest in science careers.
