Janet Vivian Dunlap

A funeral will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024 for 82-year-old Janet Vivian Dunlap of Sainte Genevieve who passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Ste. Gen. Co. Memorial Hospital in Sainte Genevieve.

 

She was born July 16, 1942 in Sainte Genevieve.

 

She married the love of her life, Dennis Dunlap, on June 25, 1966. They were happily married for 58 years. He survives in Ste. Genevieve.

 

She is also survived by: two daughters: Denise (James) Abt of Saint Mary, Mo., and Dana (Michael) Cobb of Imperial, Mo.; a sister: Ruth (David) Hudson of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother: Donald Joggerst of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Collin, Mallory, Lane, and Libby.

 

She was preceded in death by: her mother: Lois (Jones) Joggerst; her father: Lester Joggerst; a brother: Lester “Joe” Joggerst.

 

She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul, Sainte Genevieve Foundation for Success and Sainte Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

 

Janet worked in the accounting field for her whole life.

 

After retirement, she watched her grandchildren and volunteered her time helping others for St. Vincent De Paul and Sainte Genevieve Foundation for Success. She enjoyed working at The Christmas Store spending time with the other volunteers and speaking to customers.

 

Janet had many hobbies. She could sew anything, if she could imagine it, she could create it. She loved gardening, feeding hummingbirds, playing golf and cards, and going to the casino with her friends. But most of all, she loved her family.

 

Her grandchildren were her life. If they had any sporting activity or game, she was there.

 

Janet was the best wife, mother, and Grammie that anyone could ask for.

 

She will be sadly missed by all.

 

Visitation will be 8-9:45 a.m. at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

 

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 for 82-year-old Janet Vivian Dunlap of Sainte Genevieve at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.

 

Burial will follow at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
