Wanda K. Long

A funeral will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 for 93-year-old Wanda K. Long of Evansville, Illinois, who passed away at 8:29 pm, Monday, August 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by children and all her grandchildren.

 

She was born Nov. 17, 1931 in Evansville, Illinois, daughter of Walter Valentine and Margaret Emily (nee Simpson) Heuman who both preceded her in death.

 

She married Charles J. Long May 20, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois. He preceded her in death June 4, 1997.

 

She is survived by three children: Kevin (Carla) Long of Evansville, Ill., Mike Long of Evansville, Ill., and Robin Walter of Evansville, Ill.; a sister: June Smith of Effingham, Ill.; nine grandchildren: Cheryl Cleveland, Jeremy (Natalie) Long, Josh (Sara) Long, Jacob Long, Jesse (Emily) Walter, Jenna (Ryan) Schilling, and Jamie Horton; nine great grandchildren: Lukcan, Mitchel, and Brett Cleveland, Jada Long, Tyler Long, Olivia and Kaitlyn Schilling, Ella and Beau Walter; two great-great grandsons: Connor and Henry Cleveland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by a son: Charles Keith Long, two sisters: Allene (Adam) Becker and Lelia (Robert) DeRousse, a half-sister: Anna Mae Hopley; two brothers-in-law: Roger Smith and Robert Long, a  grandson-in-law: Lonnie Cleveland, and two great-granddaughters: Lydia Long and Kaylee Long.

 

Wanda was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois, St. Boniface Alter Society, American Legion Auxiliary in Evansville, Illinois, and Evansville Senior Citizens.

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois.

 

A funeral mass for 93-year-old Wanda K. Longof Evansville, Illinois, will be held at 11 am, Friday, September 6, 2024 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois. Officiating: Fr. Iuvenius Iheme and Fr. Steven Pautler.

 

Interment will be in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Evansville, Illinois.
