Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center welcomes new board members

STE GENEVIEVE — Sainte Genevieve Museum Learning Center has announced is pleased to welcome new board members: Derek Kutz, Scott Darrough, Lindsey Crump and Kayla Hogenmiller.



Derek Kutz is a 2005 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and has worked for Richardet Floor Covering for the past 19 years. He and his wife Jodi (Reich), along with their boys Colton (15) and Colby (10) reside in Ste. Genevieve. Derek continues to spend many hours volunteering in the community and coaching youth sports. He and his family enjoy a variety of sports and spending time with family and friends.

Scott Darrough is the Jefferson County Health Department Vector Technician. As a young teen, he became interested in ornithology, which would lead to an appreciation of the natural world. Biology would become his main interest with a special passion for botany. Scott has a great appreciation for the immense richness of life that is found on planet earth, truly a rare jewel in the universe. He can often be found working with the Missouri Stream Team program by means of education, water quality monitoring, and stream cleanups. He has a fondness for fly fishing and is the Conservation Director and Stream Team Coordinator for Ozark Fly Fishers. Scott resides in the beautiful Belews Creek watershed, Hillsboro, MO

Lindsey Crump started working with the museum through a volunteer opportunity in October of 2019 and has become an integral part of the museum. She currently spends her time at the museum sharing her knowledge of exhibits and planning interactive children’s activities. Her family has always had ties to the Ste. Genevieve Community and Lindsey herself has resided here most of her life. She is studying Social Studies Secondary Education with a minor in Anthropology at Southeast Missouri State University. Outside of the museum, she loves to paint, take pictures and spend time with her fiance, Jayden.

Kayla Hogenmiller is a middle school math teacher of 15 years. She spent 4 years in the Ferguson-Florrisant School District and 11 here at Ste. Genevieve Middle School. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Mathematics and Social Studies from Missouri State University, a Masters in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Webster University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum from University of Missouri-Columbia. Kayla is married to Brad Hogenmiller with three kids, who love the Museum, Willa (8), Raya (5), and Andrew(3). She is passionate about authentic education and igniting curiosity in kids and adults. She enjoys the quaintness of Ste. Genevieve and the history that comes along with it. Kayla wants to see the museum thrive while providing fun activities and events to all ages of our community.
