Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meeting

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met Thursday for regular and work sessions. All of the aldermen were in attendance.

 

The consent agenda was approved 8-0, including the following items:

 

Street closure request from Downtown Ste. Genevieve for the Pecanapalooza Street Festival 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. The closed streets are: Market Street from DuBourg to Third, Third Street from Market to Merchant and Merchant Street from Third to DuBourg including the Island of Flags.

 

Resolution 2024-39: adopting the Information Technology Security Policies Manual.

 

A public hearing was held on the city’s tax rates which will rise slightly.

per $100 assessed valuation.

Old Business:

 

Bill No. 4627 An agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission for sidewalk improvements on the east side of South Fourth Street (State Highway 32) from 125 feet north of St. Joseph Street to the intersection of Rozier and Highway 32.  Passed 8-0 on final reading.

 

Approval of the certification of election results from the August 6, 2024 primary election. The city’s Proposition S $10 million street improvement bond issue passed 521-343.

 

Bill No. 4628 – Levy a tax on the residents of the city for the year 2024. Passed on voice vote for first reading and then 8-0 on second reading.

The city expects to collect $80,142,179 in real estate and personal property taxes in 2024.

 

Bill No. 4629 – Establishes a procedure to disclose potential conflicts of interest. First round approval.

 

Bill No. 4630 – Amending the city’s personnel manual, adding an “employee cell phone policy.” First round approval.
