STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve County School District R-II spokesperson Bailey Otto said the first day of classes Monday went smoothly, including the first real-world test of the district’ school bus operation. R-II took over the operation of the bus fleet from the previous owner when they retired.
“Our first day of school was an exciting start to the new academic year, with students and staff eager to return and kick off a year full of learning and growth. Despite ongoing construction projects, everything ran smoothly, including transportation, which successfully managed to get our students where they needed to be. We appreciate the community’s patience as we fine-tune bus routes and ensure the most efficient travel times for everyone,” Bailey Otto said Tuesday.
