Ste. Genevieve holds 4th Friday Art Walk August 23

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve hosts its next 4th Friday Art Walk on August 23, with art, music and lots more going on in the downtown historic district.

On the Courthouse Square the Silver Sycamore Gallery of Fine Art promises “new, intriguing

works of art on display,” plus “wine and some friendly conversation.”

ASL Pewter will offer its collection of fine pewter and celebrate artisan-owner Tom’s 70th birthday.

The Sainte Genevieve Art Center & Art Museum will exhibit art by members of the Sainte Genevieve Art Guild.

In the Little Bohemia neighborhood on N. Main Street Music Art Love will feature artists Bunny Boughamer and Mikayla Nelson-Thacker, with live music by Melissa Corbett.

E•KLeK•TiX Studio and Gallery is offering an exhibit of J Rissover’s collection of paintings celebrating cats (and cat lovers), along with other work by the artist and complimentary wine.

A special open house is planned at the Dr. Hertich House with live music on the back deck and wine and smoked meats. The collection of Missouri Regional Art prints inside the Hertich House and its newly renovated Governor’s Suite will be on display.

Weather permitting, a local artist group is expected to show original work at the Main Street Park at N. Main and Jefferson.

Only Child Originals and Rust also will be open.

Elsewhere in town Rustik Sand Kandles on Merchant will be open during the art walk and is inviting an artist who’d like to show work to take advantage of an “on the spot” chance to set up an exhibit.

La Petite Fleur–the town’s newest art venue at 185 Market Street next to Lions Park–will display the work of owners Angie Dalton and Sandy Muzzy.

The Art Walk takes place from 6-9 p.m. Other businesses throughout the historic downtown area may be open. Most Art Walk activities are free and open to everyone.
