PERRYVILLE – Congratulations to Norma Wengert, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 133 member, who won the Department of Missouri, Unit Member of the Year Award at the state level.

She was presented the award by American Legion Auxiliary, District 13 President, Roselee Buatte at the monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Norma served as the ALA, Unit 133 Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Chair for 16 years and volunteers in multiple capacities to serve our Veterans.
She and her husband, Bill, visited the nursing home in Perryville, MO and the Veterans Home in Jackson, MO every month for the past 22 years.
Bill plays music and Norma organizes bingo to entertain the Veterans.
Norma and Bill have also organized and delivered Christmas packages to the Veterans at various nursing homes in the area. Norma has also arranged for Veterans to enjoy a meal at the Perryville American Legion Clubroom and delivery of 50 meals to the Veterans Home in St. Mary, MO.
