Each year, Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park celebrates the birthday of the National Park Service by hosting live music during NPS Birthday Bash. This year, Arrowhead Jazz Band will travel from New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park in New Orleans, LA, to perform at the event. Arrowhead Jazz Band features park rangers performing alongside professional musicians.
Arrowhead Jazz Band will perform an eclectic mix of Jazz, Blues, French Creole songs, and Louisiana Dance music while sharing some of the history behind these styles. Earlier in the day, Arrowhead Jazz Band will also provide a free educational concert for local students.
Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park was established in 2020 to preserve and interpret the history of the oldest permanent European settlement in present-day Missouri. Visitors may tour original vertical log buildings and discover the rich history of those who lived in the community. The park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but closed on Thanksgiving, December 25, and New Year’s Day. All programs at the park, including house tours, are free and open to the public.
