STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve County received its July transfer of sale tax receipts earlier this month, and the trending of declining receipts continued.
The county’s general sales tax brought in $77,263.34 for the month of June, which is down $8,709.91 from the same month in 2023.
So far this calendar year, the tax has brought in $475,388.20 which is down $90,118.50 from the same period in 2023.
Similar amounts were seen in the county law enforcement tax, the county general tax, and the two capital improvements taxes.
This is at least the second straight year of declining sales tax revenue for Ste. Genevieve County.
The general sales tax brought in $120,835.74 in June of 2022, which fell to $85,973.25 in June of 2023 and $77,263.34 in June of this year.
