A funeral will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 for 99-year-old Violet Mae Feaman of Ellis Grove, Ill., who passed away peacefully at 5:15 pm, Friday, July 26, 2024 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.
She was born November 26, 1924 in Belknap, Ill. to Walter Thomas and Sara Lee Verna May (nee Stout) Burris who both preceded her in death.
She married Quincy L. Feaman November 10, 1977 in Ellis Grove, Ill.; he preceded her in death on November 15, 1993.
She is survived by a son: Gregory (Judy) Cox of Omaha, Neb.; a niece: Vicki (Bob) Riseling of Pueblo, Colo.; a son-in-law: Roger Nitzsche of Ellis Grove; five grandchildren: Kyle (Porsha) Nitzsche, Ryan (Rose) Nitzsche, Kara (Joey) Carter, Nicholas Cox and Brandon Cox and seven great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Pamela Nitzsche and two brothers: Joe Burris and Don Burris.
She was a teacher in New Burnside, Ill. and at the Ellis Grove Elementary School.
After retirement, Violet spent many years volunteering for the hospital auxiliary.
Violet was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove, Ill. where she played the piano and the organ for many years.
She was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Violet enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to fellowship with others.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill. and 11-noon Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Ellis Grove, Illinois.
A funeral for 99-year-old Violet Mae Feaman of Ellis Grove, Ill. will be held at noon Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at the First Baptist Chuch in Ellis Grove, Illinois. Pastor Dan Ahlenius will officiate.
Interment will be in the Ellis Grove City Cemetery in Ellis Grove, Illinois.
