JEFFERSON CITY — Two Perryville residents were hurt in a traffic crash on Route J in Madison County Saturday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 47-year-old James L. Cartee had serious injuries and was transported to Mercy South in St. Louis while Brandin J. Henderson had moderate injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
The patrol says Henderson was buckled up but Cartee was unrestrained.
The patrol says the crash happened about 11:43 a.m. when an eastbound 2003 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cartee slid on wet pavement, skidded off the road and struck a tree.
The crash happened about four miles east of Fredericktown.
The Cherokee was a total loss and was towed by D and D.
